I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I want to do with this thing called Life and often find that letting my thoughts guide me rather than my heart generally leads to discontent.
I have finally come to realize that it is with a community that we can grow and expand ourselves. If we stick ourselves in a bubble we will never hear/see a new perspective. This is why I am now able to ask for help, without feeling shame. When we become adults we are expected to know #allthethings, but without asking, opening up and sharing our own perspectives how can we learn new things? We need to be vulnerable and share our beliefs, ideas, stories, love, etc. During my yoga teacher certification we were asked to read Daring Greatlyby Brene Brown. She asks us to be open and vulnerable, much like asking for help, as it is the root to so many emotions (joy, happiness, guilt, fear). Most often if you do ask for help you will be greeted with joy, gratitude and hopefully some new knowledge/perspective. If your answers unfortunately meet with guilt/shame of asking, perhaps that teacher was having a difficult time asking for help themselves. Get out there ask for help for what you want, learn a new way and share your goals. Together we can create anything. <3 Jenn |
