Guided I believe meditation doesn't have to be about clearing the mind so to speak but guiding the mind. For guided imagery meditations you'll have a topic to focus on which helps to keep the mind on track, so to speak.&nbsp;</span>&#8203;</div>  <div>  <!--BLOG_SUMMARY_END--></div>  <div class="paragraph">For extra oomph, why not record yourself reading this meditation out loud, then find a comfy place to sit or lie down and fully immerse yourself in this meditation!<br /><br /><u><strong>Autumn Leaves Guided Meditation</strong></u><br />Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.<br />Close your eyes, soften your shoulders away from your ears and start by focusing on your breath.&nbsp;<br />Actively notice your chest rise and fall with every inhalation and exhalation.&nbsp;<br />Take a few mindful breaths to slow down your body and mind.&nbsp;<br /><br />Then shift your focus to your mind's eye, otherwise known as your imagination.&nbsp;<br />Within your mind's eye, see a large tree with green leaves.<br />Perhaps it's a tree you've known since you were a child or a new tree that is willing to work with you today.&nbsp;<br /><br />Take some time to notice the height of the tree, the color of the bark, the shape of the branches and the shape of the leaves. In your mind's eye see yourself taking a walk around the trunk of the tree to see it from all sides and as many perspectives as possible.&nbsp;<span>Allow your mind to notice as many details as you possibly can.<br /><br />As you are taking in the details of the tree, you begin to notice the leaves starting to change color. Slowly one by one each leaf starts to change. Perhaps you see yellows, oranges, browns or reds. Whatever comes to mind first allow it to happen without judgement, until each leaf has transformed.&nbsp;<br /><br />Take a moment to see this tree in all it's colorful beauty. Notice the different shades and hues of the transformed leaves. Perhaps taking another walk around the tree to see each perspective and how it has changed.&nbsp;At this point a single leaf lets go of the tree branch and slowly cascades down to your feet. Notice the color, shape and any other details of this first fallen leaf.&nbsp;<br /><br />As you notice the first leaf, slowly another falls and another, and another....&nbsp;</span><br />This process continues as you begin to look back up to almost bare branches and a gentle gust of wind blows taking a few more leaves with it. Notice if you can feel this breeze as the cool crisp air of Autumn settles in.&nbsp;<br /><br />If it feels right, see yourself picking up that first fallen leaf. Thank the tree for this mindful moment and see yourself slowly walking away from this tree. Begin to let the image fade and return to your breath. Notice your chest gently rising and falling. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes. I love guided imagery meditations that don't exactly tell you which colors you're working with because your brain will generally fill in as needed. At that point it may be fun to do some color association. I've included a few examples below:<br /><br />Reds: Passion, Love, Urgency<br />Yellows: Creativity, Happiness, Warmth, Caution<br />Oranges: Playfulness, Friendly, Success, Change<br />Browns: Stability, Simplicity, Tradition<br /><br />You may even associate these colors with something else based on your personal experience. Take some time and journal it out. However, what if we shift that mindset to only look at the good things or to consciously create more beauty and love in our lives? What if we present the idea to ourselves that there are more positive than negative things/ideas that we can focus on? What if we decide to tell ourselves the narrative of our day and really manifest the messages we want in that moment?</span></div>  <div>  <!--BLOG_SUMMARY_END--></div>  <div class="paragraph">Affirmations are becoming increasingly popular, but what are they really? To affirm means to validate the truthfulness of something. Affirmations are confirming the validity and truth behind a statement or idea. Generally, we focus on positive concepts or ideas that are based in uplifting our mind, body or spirit.&nbsp;<br /><br />I like to think of affirmations as words of power. One of my inspirations, <a href="https://www.lovewitch.com/" target="_blank">Veronica Varlow</a>, likes to say "Words are wands." Affirmations are magic and remind us of the power within. If we consistently practice our magical words those words of power can alter our mindsets during a tough time or at least give us a shining light of hope. In the best of times affirmations can help amp you up and get you pumped for a big day or a tough work out. While I believe there is a meditation style for everyone, you may just have to try a few to find what resonates with it. I find it's similar to the different styles of yoga; not everyone is into a Hot Power Flow style class and maybe a Yin yoga class is more your jam. I'm here to say to each their own style of yoga and meditation.&nbsp;<br /><br />One of my favorite styles of meditation is often called "mindfulness". This concept is growing more and more since it allows you to connect to something you see, hear, feel and use your senses to meditate. Depending on your definition of mediation this may or may not be your personal preference, but I believe that meditation is a concentrated focus either on a visualization, something physical or on a concept. With that in mind if running works that for you, then it's also a form of meditation.&nbsp;<br /></div>  <div>  <!--BLOG_SUMMARY_END--></div>  <div class="paragraph"><span>For today we're going to use this mindful meditation practice to connect back within our bodies, focus on your breath and trust that your body knows how to keep you calm, protected and healthy. Right now I think that's something we could all use a little bit of. So without further ado... Read through the next few paragraphs below and then close your eyes and repeat that process. Aim to stay focused for 5 - 15 minutes. #yougotthis<br /><br /><u><strong>Trust Your Body Meditation</strong></u>:<br />Sit comfortably. Preferably with your spine long and your shoulders soft.<br />When you're ready close your eyes and begin to notice your breath. Try not to change it; just notice what is happening within the body. Feel the cool air enter through your nose and expand in the chest and belly. Feel warmer air gently leaves the body as the chest falls and the belly relaxes.&nbsp;<br /><br />&#8203;Focus on the breath and notice if your shoulders can soften and relax away from the ears.&nbsp;<br />Let the jaw relax as you naturally exhale. Soften that space between the eye brows on the next exhale.&nbsp;<br />Let the whole body soften as you continue to inhale and exhale naturally.&nbsp;<br /><br />Stay focused on your naturally breath; knowing that without trying... without thinking.... your body does this for you all day, every day.&nbsp;<br /><br />Staying focused on the natural rise and fall of the breath remind yourself that with every breath your body is working... it's sending oxygen to your brain... it's hydrating your cells.... it's exhaling out toxins...&nbsp;<br /><br />Staying focused on your natural breath notice the rise and fall of new fresh air into the body and the release of old air... Feel the body making space on every inhale. Feel the body releasing what it no longer needs on every exhale.&nbsp;<br /><br />All day, every day... Your body does this without you ever thinking about doing it. It just does it for you.<br />Take some time to feel your body working. Know that it is there to keep you alive and safe.... and it does all of this without you even trying or paying attention to it.&nbsp;<br /><br />If it's not too crazy for you, send some love to your body and feel that love from within.&nbsp;<br />Take some time here to feel yourself loved as you continue to breath naturally.<br /><br />When you're ready return your focus solely on your breath and begin to deepen the breath within the body.&nbsp;<br />Slowly let your fingers and toes wiggle and open you eyes when ready.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></div>  <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-medium " style="padding-top:5px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0px;margin-right:10px;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="https://www.zennergystudios.com/uploads/6/0/6/4/60643043/published/meditation-series.png?1587135090" alt="Picture" style="width:382;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div>  <div class="paragraph"><span>Hoping that something&nbsp;from this meditation practice sits with you! The soothing scents as you may already know are great for sleep, peaceful feelings and calm vibes. I'd have to second this. I prefer to put a little lavender on my wrists and on the back of my neck when the going gets tough. However my favorite use is to put a couple drops on my pillow before crawling into bed after a long day. #instantcalm<br /></div>  <div>  <!--BLOG_SUMMARY_END--></div>  <div class="paragraph"><span>Speaking of sleep, my second stress relief oil would be</span><strong>&nbsp;Cedarwood&nbsp;</strong><span>applied to the bottoms of my feet. I love this bedtime ritual and I've found that whenever I take the time to do this I get the best sleep hands down (or should it be feet down?). I always feel that this practice is much like the "grounding" practice of walking without shoes and connecting back to the Earth. There's just something calming and soothing of your bare feet on the ground, #amirite?<br /><br />&#8203;A little bit more on the expensive side but like Lavender another great sleep aid is <strong>Roman Chamomile</strong>. You may be more familiar with Chamomile tea, and this is similar! That calming feeling can be bottled into an oil as well. I like to diffuse this one with a little lavender for extra peace and bedtime feels.&nbsp;<br /><br />When stress gets the most of me I find that I end up with a pretty intense headache and my quick go-to is&nbsp;<strong>Peppermint </strong>oil. Just a few drops of this oil applied to my forehead usually clears up that headache; it's like magic! If that doesn't work, take a few drops and apply to the back of your neck and shoulders. We tend to tighten up here during times of stress and this oil should provide a icy hot relief.&nbsp;</span></div>  <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-none " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="https://www.zennergystudios.com/uploads/6/0/6/4/60643043/published/6-n.jpg?1585834268" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div>  <div class="paragraph"><span>While not all stress can be cleared away we can choose to shift our focus on the things we can change and that includes our reaction and attitude toward a situation. One way gift yourself a little uplift in mood is to apply a drop or two of&nbsp;</span><span><strong>Wild Orange</strong>&nbsp;to amp up that optimism! I like to put those drops into my palms and rub them together and then smell my palms (from a safe distance of course - don't touch your face).
