Simple Acts of Kindness

​The news lately has been rough. We live a world that violence and destruction show up in the media far too often. 

We may not be able to change the weather or stop needless violence before it happens, but as a community we are powerful and can create great change.

I am suggesting we look around us and see what we can do to make the world a better place. I know that sounds cheesy, but You Are Powerful. You CANchange the world. 

Here are some simple ideas:

• Say hello to the quiet employee! They might be too shy to initiate, but I'm sure they crave community just as much as you and I.​

• Tip your bartender, waitress, barista AND say Thank You. An Australian woman I met at a dance workshop said it best. If they are providing a service that you could do yourself, then you should tip them. 
  
  
• While we are on the subject of "Thank you"-THANK YOUR EMPLOYEES. The attitude of gratitude goes far beyond any other form of incentive. Yes they are doing their job, but being grateful for their service will increase their happiness and probably their work incentive. 
  
  
• Buy your friend's coffee or better yet pay it forward in the drive-thru. Nothing is more exciting than pulling up to the window and finding out some stranger paid for you! 
  
  
• Drop a random compliment on a friend's
  Facebook or Instagram. You light up when someone pays you a compliment. Share that feeling with someone else. 
  ​
• Expanding on the above, send a gratitude letter/e-mail to someone who made a big difference in your life. A teacher, a writer, a youtuber... You just made their day. 

Making the world a better place doesn't always involve donating your time or money (though that is a great way!!). You can change the world with a simple smile.
