Gifting: Easy DIY

Part Two in our holiday Gifting series! These are my favorite gifts-Easy DIY! They are fun to make and usually a bit cheaper but ALWAYS more meaningful.

This post of DIY gift ideas are heavy on the essential oils (since I'm addicted and have them on hand). Not your thing? Be on the lookout for the next DIY gifting post that won't be so heavy on oils.

Let's talk about some spa worthy bath products! These are always a hit with the women in your life who deserve a little "me time".

Bath Salts
Super easy and extremely spa worthy! Get a big bag of Epsom Bath Salts (for multiple gifts). Some essential oils (or perfume oils), little glass jars and some food coloring. Mix up about 1 cup of salts, 2-3 drops of oil, and 2-3 drops of food color (depending on the color you want). Mix it up and carefully scoop into the glass jars.

I like lavender oil mixed with some blue/red food coloring to make purple bath salts. Try a citrus scent (lemon, orange) with yellow food coloring. Light green looks great for a eucalyptus scent and will help your recipient weather any winter cold.
Sugar Scrubs
No epsom salt on hand? Make sugar scrubs instead. These are great to buff off any dead skin and nourish it with some oils.

If I'm dying the sugar, I like to use white sugar. If not, grab the brown sugar for a more "natural look". Use those essential oils to create a citrus scrub with lemon and wild orange oils. Dye it bright yellow and add in a teaspoon of olive oil (or better yet-jojoba, almond, or grapeseed oil). Scoop your concoction into a little glass jar and tie a bright bow around it with a label.

Dry Shampoo
All the rage for those of too busy to wash our hair-hey, it happens! If you have some corn starch or arrowroot powder in your pantry, you are half way there. Mix 1/4 cup of corn starch with 3-4 drops of essential oil of choice (I like lavender). If the recipient has darker hair, add in a tablespoon of cocoa powder (adjust as needed). Toss into a glass jar or a fancy shaker jar for ease of use!
If you make all three, why not put them into a pretty basket with tissue paper from the Dollar Store. Amp it up with some of those sample size toiletries, you know the ones you stole from a hotel! Add a candle for a deluxe spa day gift basket.

Happy crafting!
