Every Spring, and Autumn, we mark the changing of the season during what is known as the "Equinox". Vernal or Autumnal to be exact. While we passed the Spring Equinox back on March 20th, we are just starting to see the signs of Spring in upstate NY. Now that we're in May we're hoping we won't be seeing any more snow showers! Along with that spring new growth/re-birth feeling, I think it's important to also notice the equinox, meaning equal day and night. It's a time to remember that finding balance in life is key! Think work & play. Love & lust. Treating yourself vs. over-indulgence. Etc. etc. There's a myth that only on the equinox you can balance an egg (raw) on edge. First off this is super cool to witness. Second of all, I think it's also a great reminder that it only takes a few minutes to find some balance. A quick fact check says you can balance an egg any time of the year if you try it enough times. However, this is a great reminder that we DON'T need the equinox to remind us to create balance in our lives. New Year's Day or Spring time aren't the only times we can make a positive change. Even the moon cycle doesn't have to be in perfect alignment to create new change. Really, all we need to do is make up our minds. If we want to create change, do it. If you want some celestial help, that's great too. However, it always comes back to us no matter what. We are the dreamers of our own lives and we are the curators. So design, paint, or color it anyway you want.
Just remember it may take a few tries before we can balance all of our eggs. - Jenn Rose (Rock Photo by Deniz Altindas on Unsplash Egg Photo by Marco Secchi on Unsplash) |
