Raise your hands. You know who you are. I am too. ;) I've tried to give it up before and it's so hard! Then I decided it's one of life's little pleasures, so why not? I'm sure you know one or two Coffee Addicts on your gift list. Below are some fun and funky ideas that will inspire your recipient. I've included a range of options per your budget, plus a bonus DIY idea at the end of this post. The Show Stopper: Chemex Pour Over My kingdom for a pour over! You've probably seen these at your local coffee shop. I've even heard of some places turning this method into entertainment and educational coffee shop workshops! The basic idea of a pour over includes letting the hot water steep in the coffee grounds while the freshly brewed coffee drips down into the second chamber. It takes some time for the coffee to brew, but I've heard great things about flavor. It's also a fun conversation starter with all those relatives visiting for the holidays! French Press Not into the pour over idea? How about a French Press? I looooove my French Press. I've also heard some people will ONLY drink coffee if it's made via French Press. I really like this method if there's only one or two people who want a cup of coffee. There's several options for a French Press that range in price. Though, I do recommend getting glass over plastic options! Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans Chocolate and Coffee?! What is there not to like? One of my co-workers usually sells these and bags of coffee around the holidays as a fund raiser for his daughter. I always buy two bags, but they never make it to Christmas! Personalized Mug No it's doesn't have to be the person's name, but it could be! One of my favorite coffee mugs was a gift from a friend. It's light pink with white polka dots and Pusheen the Cat's face. It's very Jenn. Think about what your recipient also likes or what kind of hobbies they are into. Yoga mugs, anyone? If you only know they like coffee, we have those too. ;) Bag of Coffee
I mean how could I not put this on the list?! I'd suggest based on your recipient you look for either a single origin coffee or get a little crazy and invite some fun holiday flavors. Another fun choice would be to order some of the legendary Cafe Du Monde coffee with chicory! DIY Coffee Gift Basket Looking for something a little bigger than a bag of coffee, but not as expensive as French Press? Snag a cheap basket from the Dollar Store (or bonus if you already have one somewhere!). Put in a bag of coffee, a mug, maybe some chocolate. If you know they take sugar in their coffee, throw that in too! Get super crafty and make some DIY creamer. All this coffee talk; I better go get a cup! - Jenn Rose Full Discloser: I am not paid for the promotion of any of these items, I just like them. :) Happy Shopping! It's also a time of reflection. Looking at those goals we had from the beginning of 2017. What we committed to and what may have fallen between the cracks. Let's start there.
What were your personal goals for 2017? What did you accomplish? What didn't get accomplished? WHY? That is the bigger question. Why did those goals fall short this year? Did you commit to too many other things that you didn't have the drive to "do it all"? Were you unable to hold yourself accountable? Did you really want to achieve that goal in the first place? Before we set out our 2018 goals, take a look at those goals that we set and failed to complete. This is not a beat yourself up session! This is a figure out what didn't work, so we don't repeat it moment. A What do you REALLY want moment. We only commit our time, passion and heart to things we really love. Let's make a pact that in 2018 our goals are only those things that will really make us excited to complete. If you are not committing to it, there's a reason. Break the repetitive cycle and work out what you really want so you can go out there and get it going! They are fun to make and usually a bit cheaper but ALWAYS more meaningful. This post of DIY gift ideas are heavy on the essential oils (since I'm addicted and have them on hand). Not your thing? Be on the lookout for the next DIY gifting post that won't be so heavy on oils. Let's talk about some spa worthy bath products! These are always a hit with the women in your life who deserve a little "me time".
Bath Salts Super easy and extremely spa worthy! Get a big bag of Epsom Bath Salts (for multiple gifts). Some essential oils (or perfume oils), little glass jars and some food coloring. Mix up about 1 cup of salts, 2-3 drops of oil, and 2-3 drops of food color (depending on the color you want). Mix it up and carefully scoop into the glass jars. I like lavender oil mixed with some blue/red food coloring to make purple bath salts. Try a citrus scent (lemon, orange) with yellow food coloring. Light green looks great for a eucalyptus scent and will help your recipient weather any winter cold. Sugar Scrubs No epsom salt on hand? Make sugar scrubs instead. These are great to buff off any dead skin and nourish it with some oils. If I'm dying the sugar, I like to use white sugar. If not, grab the brown sugar for a more "natural look". Use those essential oils to create a citrus scrub with lemon and wild orange oils. Dye it bright yellow and add in a teaspoon of olive oil (or better yet-jojoba, almond, or grapeseed oil). Scoop your concoction into a little glass jar and tie a bright bow around it with a label. Dry Shampoo All the rage for those of too busy to wash our hair-hey, it happens! If you have some corn starch or arrowroot powder in your pantry, you are half way there. Mix 1/4 cup of corn starch with 3-4 drops of essential oil of choice (I like lavender). If the recipient has darker hair, add in a tablespoon of cocoa powder (adjust as needed). Toss into a glass jar or a fancy shaker jar for ease of use! If you make all three, why not put them into a pretty basket with tissue paper from the Dollar Store. Amp it up with some of those sample size toiletries, you know the ones you stole from a hotel! Add a candle for a deluxe spa day gift basket. Happy crafting! - Jenn Rose |
